Is YTA Method A Scam? [2020 Review]

Congratulations for taking the time to do research before jumping in head first on an opportunity. The online world is full of scams and doing your homework is the only way to find the legit ones.

Who Is Caleb Maddix?

When I saw Caleb's ad for the first time, I couldn't help but to wonder how old is he? He definitely seems to have accomplished quite a bit for his young age.

Well, it turns out Caleb is only 18 years old but he's actually a quite accomplished entrepreneur already. He has authored several books, has a successful online business, and is a public motivational speaker.

Caleb's target audience seems to be kids, which is natural as he's still one himself. He owns a company called Apex 4 kids that is actually estimated worth $30 million.

But get this, Caleb got featured by Forbes and shared stage with speakers lie Gary Vaynerchuck, Grant Cardone, and Tony Robbins when he was 14 in 2016!

So the kid is definitely something special. Most people don't really accomplish anything but going to school by 14. Definitely not doing motivational speeches in front of hundreds of people.  It's also clear he is very intelligent.

Still, his young age makes me a bit reserved. On the other hand, he has accomplished more than I or most of you reading this have so he probably has some useful information.

How YTA Method Works

So how does the YTA Method actually work? Well here's the method in a nutshell:

1. Find a YouTube channel that is voice over or faceless and receives millions of views
2. Create a YouTube channel in the same niche
3. Hire virtual assistants on Fiverr or Upwork and essentially copy the content of their videos, making small changes to the titles, description, thumbnails, etc.
4. Focus on copying the content from the channels most viral videos

The idea here is that you are using content and keywords that are proven to work. Your VAs do all the talking and editing for you and you reap the benefits.

This, of course, requires some initial capital to invest, because you need to pay the VAs. But since you are creating content that is proven to work, you should be able to reinvest your profit into additional work from the VAs fairly quickly.

Is YTA Method A Scam

No, I wouldn't call the YTA method a scam. They teach a business model that seems to be delivering what it promises. That said I think there are some problems with the program.

First of all, it is the fact that it's basically about creating duplicate content. This raises copyright, ethical, and even long term sustainability questions.

You are essentially copying someone else's work, in a niche you have no idea about. This means that information in the videos can degrade from the original source.

I guess there are no copyright issues if I understood the program correctly and the VAs actually create completely new reworded videos. You can't naturally just copy someone else's audio without permission.

But here's the thing. YouTube is run by Google. And Google isn't stupid. They have very  smart algorithms that can spot duplicate content and infer which video was first.

You see, Google is all about user experience. They want to offer the most relevant, interesting, and up-to-date search results. So if you are not adding any new information in your content, Google probably won't see your content as very relevant.

So while this method might work very well now, I wouldn't be surprised if these types of videos will not rank well on YouTube in the future. I at least personally hope Google and YouTube start appreciating unique, user-created content moreover filler videos.

There are for example thousands of channels within YouTube that are making money by editing together stock videos, royalty-free music, and royalty-free motivational speeches.

I personally think videos like these add no value and might as well be created by artificial intelligence. Come to think of it, actually, I'm sure there are AI created videos like these within YouTube.

This brings us to the ethical questions. I think videos like these don't add real value unless you give them at least some twist of your own. Bring in your own opinion, experience, etc. In one word I think it's form plagiarism that just takes up precious server space.

I also think the course seems to be priced quite steeply. On the other hand, I think everyone has the right to set their price as high as they want. Then it's just a matter of demand and supply.

For the above reasons, I can't really recommend the YTA Method as a way to make honest money online. I personally use a different business model that's been time tested and 100% honest.

How To Make Honest Money Online

I use a business model that allows you to turn any hobby, knowledge, or passion into a profitable business that creates income on automation while you help solve people's problems.

This business model is online affiliate marketing combined with search engine optimization. Here's how it works in a nutshell:

1. Pick a niche, something you know a lot about or are comfortable researching
2. Create a website with a relevant name to your niche
3. Find what information people are looking for in your niche by doing keyword research. Things like reviews, how to's, tutorials, explanations, etc.
4. Create content around the keywords people search for in Google. Preferably tens or hundreds of posts depending on the niche.
5. As your website gains authority, you will start showing in peoples search results and people come to your site
6. You include affiliate links to relevant offers within the content. These need to be truly useful to your readers and help them solve a problem
7. Visitors click on those links and if they decide to buy, you earn a commission. All parties win: you get money, the visitor solves a problem and the company gets a sale.

While this might seem simple enough on paper, there's a lot you need to know to succeed in this business in 2020. But don't let anyone tell you it can't be done.

But you need to realize this is a legit business opportunity. It means this involves work in the form of content creation. If you have the money, it can be outsourced though.

You will not earn anything in the beginning but you need to keep publishing content consistently. This is the reason most people give up too early. They can't see past the initial phase even though the model has been proven over and over again. It's just a matter of putting in the work.

Here's an example of traffic for one of my websites:

Notice how there is very little traffic in the beginning but the graph then starts growing exponentially. This is very typical with this business model.

This is what we call the snowball effect. You know, like a snowball running downhill, it starts small but expands very quickly once it gets going. Once you get traffic, you will get revenue as well.

As I said, it's very hard to succeed with this if you don't know what you are doing. That's why I recommend you get some training and tools. The end prize is worth it as this business model allows passive income and locational freedom.

Caleb Maddix is definitely a successful kid and I have no doubt that his system will work for the time being. I still see some ethical issues with the business model and can't really recommend it for that reason.

Affiliate marketing is a proven and tested business model that works just fine in 2020. But it's definitely not a get rich type of deal. It's a legit business opportunity that requires you to put in the effort if you wish to see results.

It takes time to get the needle moving so I recommend you get started right away. The sooner you start the faster you will see results!

Then it's only a matter of keeping consistent and not giving up until you see results. If you are worried you can't do it, don't be. These are skills that can be learned just like anything else. You don't have to be technically gifted to become an online marketer so stop making excuses and take action!
