Insight Global Summary
Company: Insight Global
Product Type: Staffing agency
Profit Potential: Fulltime
My Score: 4/5
Summary: Insight Global is a legit staffing agency. It's possible to seek part time or full time employment through their services. If you own a company that need employees, IG can help you find the best professionals, fast.
Insight Global is also perfect for college kids or anyone looking to jumpstart their career. They will help you find suitable positions for your skill set even if you don't have that much prior work experience.
That said, you have to keep an open mind when seeking employment through staffing agencies. While they are usually your employer, you will actually work at the client company. And every company has different culture.
Recommended?: For employment? Yes. For long term? I have a better recommendation. Just hit the button below.
What Is Insight Global
Insight Global is an American premier staffing agency, based in Atlanta. They offer employment and staffing services across the USA and Canada.
According to their website, they provide all sorts of staffing services including:
- Long-term contract
- Short-term contract
- Temp to permanent
- Direct placement
- Enhanced staffing
So essentially they are a work rental service that handles the whole scale from a fast temporary contract to headhunting a professional for a direct placement.
They specialize in Information Technology, Accounting and Finance, Engineering and Government jobs. So mostly white-collar office jobs and specialist positions as far as I can tell.
Their staffing services are based on the principle that in the corporate world many companies don't have the time or resources to sift through thousands of applications and do interviews when they need an immediate placement solution.
IG promises to find the best candidates in the market and present them to the client company in a timely manner. They have an extensive qualification process to pick only one or two of their best candidates to the client company.
They also state they have the technical knowledge to find the right resource for any position so they focus on understanding the clients' requirements and maintaining close relations with their consultants so they can fill any position in record time.
What Is A "Staffing Agency?"
If you saw an open position at Insight Global it might come as a surprise to you it's actually a staffing agency if you are not familiar with staffing agencies.
A staffing agency is simply a company that offers workforce to the companies looking for it. They, of course, take a piece of the pie.
So why do companies use staffing agencies instead of hiring people directly? Well, there are many reasons:
- Recruiting employees involves a lot of work. Setting up ads, interviews and all the paperwork takes a lot of time. Staffing agencies do this for the company.
- Companies use staffing agencies to try out workers. Hiring a new worker is often a huge risk, especially for small businesses. They can use staffing agencies to try you out. (I don't think this is really ethical).
- Temporary employment. Companies use staffing agencies when they have temporary positions in projects and especially when they need a lot of workforce fast, like
So the positions they offer at staffing agencies are actually positions at their client companies. But typically the employer will be, at least in the beginning, the staffing agency.
Staffing agencies do often offer direct placements as well so they only handle the recruiting process and you actually sign a contract with the client company.
If you are thinking about seeking employment through Insight Global or any other staffing agency, It's very important to understand who you will be actually working for.
The most typical scenario is this:
- You spot an ad for an open position from a staffing agency
- They are looking to hire a temporary employee for a client company
- You apply to a job and get interviewed by the staffing agency.
- You sign a contract with the staffing agency and are actually legally working for them instead of the client company.
- If the client company wants to continue your contract they might offer you a direct contract or you
To make things more confusing, sometimes the staffing agency can't tell you even the company they are recruiting for until you have accepted the job. I don't know if Insight Global does this but a couple of local staffing agencies I worked for in the past did this all the time.
There are also a couple of ways an employee can seek employment through a staffing agency:
- You can leave an open application. The staffing agency will offer you suitable positions when they appear.
- You can apply for an open position from a client company
- You can apply for an open position at the agency
That last one if naturally not the service staffing agencies sale but they are usually rather large companies so they do have open positions in their own organizations as well from time to time.
Cons of Staffing Agencies
The biggest issue with staffing agencies is that they allow companies to go around employer obligations like health benefits, annual holidays, terms of notice, etc.
Not completely of course as the staffing agency has to comply with laws and regulations, but in many cases, the legal position of the employee is worse than in direct contracts.
Using a staffing agency makes it also very easy to lay off people or keep them in a short leash by only using temporary contracts.
This allows companies to treat people like numbers and hide behind the bureaucracy. The staffing agency is just one more step between the employee and the executive board is you catch my drift.
Is Insight Global A Scam?
No. Inside Global definitely isn't a scam.
The fact that Insight Global operates in the whole USA and Canada and has been operational since 2001 is enough of proof they are a legit business that offers valuable solutions to companies and employees alike.
If they were scamming people, they would've been out of business a long time ago.
You are likely doing research on the company because you are looking to seek employment through them.
Keep in mind that as a staffing agency they simply offer positions for their client companies. The client businesses can be almost anything.
Of course, well-established companies like Insight Global will have standards for the companies they take as clients, but there are bound to be some shady ones.
If you are new to working for staffing agencies it's important to keep an open mind. The position you are accepting might be something totally different than the description said.
In cases like these, it's also very important to understand your rights as an employee. If the work turns out to be hazardous or otherwise simply unacceptable to you, never be afraid to walk away.
But also keep in mind that if you resign without a very good reason, the staffing agency might not offer you work again. This is because it's in their interest to offer companies people who are committed.
In most cases, staffing agencies won't have any severance penalties but be sure to read the fine print in your contract so you don't get any nasty surprises.
Insight Global for College Kids
There seem to be a lot of people looking for information if Insight Globals is good for college kids so I thought I'd share my opinion on that as well.
I actually think staffing agencies are great for inexperienced workers looking for their first employment. Like I said before, I think there are problems with staffing agencies and the terms of employment.
But in the case of college kids, they often don't have much to sell them selfs to a company so it's better to take any job available to get some experience.
This is how I actually used staffing agencies when I was younger. There were plenty of job opportunities if you weren't too picky.
I did a lot of temp jobs in construction, manufacturing and logistics for example. Most of the jobs weren't anything spectacular but they did offer a steady paycheck, experience and they taught me to respect every job out there.
Insight Global focuses more on office jobs in many industries so there might actually be positions that give a good opportunity for more steady employment after college.
So if you are in college and looking for work, Insight Global and other staffing agencies might actually be the easiest way to find employment.
Just keep in mind that if you want experience in your own field, don't be afraid to turn down jobs in the wrong fields. Be respectful and explain that positions in the wrong fields will not further your career and they will understand it very well.
It's very important in my experience to explain why you are turning down a job opportunity if you don't want to end up on the "blacklist" i.e. the people they don't offer positions anymore because they are too picky.
That said, IG seems to be one of the few staffing agencies that offer relevant positions that use current technologies so it might be the perfect place to jumpstart your career. Especially if you work in IT.
Insight Global Salary
So how about the salary at Insight Global? Well at this point you should realize it will, of course, depend on the client company.
That said it's very common with staffing agencies to use the minimum wage that's allowed in the given industry when hiring temps and "tryouts" for companies.
Of course, companies like IG employ people of all caliber so the wages in the more specialized position are likely negotiable.
If looking for information on the average salaries at Insight Global from Indeed.com.
First of all, the most important metrics are exceptionally good:
- The company has a 4.0 / 5.0 rating from 2200 reviewers
- 74% of people think they are paid fairly at IG (That's pretty great when you consider most Americans don't think they are paid enough.)
- Common benefits at IG include 401k Plan, Dental Insurance, Employee Discounts, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Vision Insurance
Since IG offers positions in many fields so naturally, the average wages will vary a lot. You can check the average pay for the position you are thinking about applying to from that Indeed link I shared.
The average IG salaries range from $13.22/hour (Product Support) to $61.41/hour (SAP consultant). The range on average yearly salaries is similarly high ranging from $34,000 (IT Support) to $130,081 (Penetration Tester.)
I have to tell you, I have no idea what a Penetration Tester does for a living but the teenager within me wants to think it's something dirty. Just saying 😉
You have to keep in mind that those numbers are from the voluntary submissions from Indeed, so there is no guarantee about their accuracy.
Not surprisingly it seems the best salaries are in the Software Development ranging from $30/hour to over $70/hour.
So all in all the salaries seem to be up to the bar at IG.
Insight Global Experiences
I also looked at some of the reviews people have left about Insight Global at Indeed. I like to go over the 5 star and 1-star reviews to get a glimpse of the best and the worst experiences as these usually tell the most.
Of course, the average reviews represent the majority of reviews and people are rarely either hate or love their work experience at a company. But when they do, it's important to know why in my opinion.
Common themes in 5-star reviews:
- Nice staff that cares about your job satisfaction
- They take the time and effort to contract a position that fits your skillset and personality
- The company truly cares about its employees and contractors
- The reps go the extra mile for customer satisfaction
- Good benefits
- Very supportive and understanding staff
- They go beyond simple placement and truly match an employee with the clients' need.
- Productive and fun to place to work
- Pays are on time
- Work is relevant and on current technology
Common themes in 1-star reviews:
- Only paid minimum wage, even with experience
- They don't care for their employees
- Expensive health insurance
- Staff lacks professionalism, communication skills, and honesty
- Eager to get you in because they work for commissions
- They only care about their own employees, not the clients
- Low pay
Now you have to keep in mind that since this is a staffing agency, some of the critique is actually pointed at the client company and it's not always possible to tell from reviews if they are criticizing IG or the client company.
In some cases, the reviews might be from people who actually work at IG and not for them, so that makes things even more complicated.
I recommend you go over the reviews yourself and form an opinion of your own. Remember that negative reviews are often left by resentful people so always take them with a grain of salt.
My Recommendation To You
If you made it this far, you are likely seriously considering seeking employment with Insight Global. If you are unemployed and need money to pay the bills I think this is a wise move.
But like I said at the beginning of this post I have a better proposition for you. I want you to invest in your future by learning the skills to create a successful online business.
The working life is consuming and I don't want you to feel obligated to suffer through it until retirement. I want to tell you there are better options. There is hope.
But the information I'm about to share with you is not some get-rich-quick scheme. It takes work and requires you to invest serious time into it. Taking action and being consistent is the key for success.
That said, if you are willing to learn the skills, put in the work and be determined to stick out the initial phase, you can be rewarded with financial freedom.
Just think about. What if you could wake up in the morning, work for a couple of hours and then do whatever you love to do most. Spend time with your family? Educate your self? Hit the gym? Play games? Anything that your job is keeping you from doing.
So what I recommend you to do? Get a job you can endure so you can pay the bills. Take me up on my free offer and I will show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I'm not going to lie to you and say it's easy or recommend you to stop working. There are people who sell you false promises about online business.
It's not a get rich overnight kinda deal. It might be if you have years of experience, but it typically takes up to a year to start seeing real results as a beginner.
That's why I recommend you to seek that employment. But don't do it as a long term plan. Make the decision to take things into your own hands.
Companies kick out people all the time, they also go bankrupt all the time. Occupations become obsolete due to advances in technology.
You don't want to be dependent on other people's paychecks. You need to diversify your income. Creating a successful online business is the start.
Just think about it. How would you feel if you were in the position to turn down any job? Even if you have a career you love, you could pick the positions. You wouldn't work for money, you would work for passion.
So make the decision to learn the skills today. Use any time you have to spare to create your own business.
It will take time and persistence but remember this. Time goes by really fast. Before you know it a year has passed.
Imagine that a year from now you could still be working in the job but you would also have a very nice side income from your online business.
Now imagine three years have passed. Your online business is thriving and the income has surpassed your income from your job.
You are free to do what you want.
Do three years sound to long? The mistake 99% (the same people who stay in their jobs) of people make is that they don't make long term plans. They plan for the imminent future.
The time goes by awfully fast and the decision you make today will form your future. It's time to make the right decision.
I created a very simple and completely free, no-strings-attached 7-day course for you to get started. It will teach you the basics and show you what this stuff is all about.
There are no hidden costs. You will eventually need to invest in your business, but you can get started for completely free. There's no risk on your part. That's the beauty of online business. Regular brick and mortar businesses cost thousands and thousands just to set up.
So please check out the course, I promise you won't regret it. You will also receive my full support. You can contact me any time and I will promise to get back to you as soon as possible. It's my passion to see you succeed. Every people I can make work for themselves is a personal win for me!
Conclusion
I hope you enjoyed my Insight Global review and hope it answered all of your questions. If there is something I missed, don't hesitate to contact me in the comments section below and I'll promise to get back to you as soon as possible.
So to sum things up, Inside Global is definitely not a scam. It's simply a staffing agency that does the job they promise to do.
They offer companies an easy way to recruit workforce and they offer the workforce an easy way to seek employment.
With staffing agencies it's typically a bit easier to get in than to get direct full-time employment from a company.
But generally speaking, the terms of employment are not as solid. In short, it's easier to get laid off from a temporary staff agency position than from a permanent full-time direct placement position.
This is at least my experience in my country, it might be different in the US, but my research suggests it's exactly like that.
This is why companies love to use staffing agencies all over the world. They can keep the workforce in a short leash and there is always "new meat" to throw in the "grinder".
After all, it's a very different scenario to have for example union workers than staffing agency employees (rent workers) when a company is trying to cut down costs. The union workers can defend their rights by going on strike, generally speaking, the rent workers can't. At least not as easily.
Many companies use staffing agencies rather unethically to get around employer obligations and to test new employees.
On the other hand, this allows many companies to hire workforce in temporary need or to try positions that might not be filled otherwise. This creates a win-win situation IF the company treats the employees with respect.
My recommendation is to get employment through IG or any other means if you need the money to survive. But create a long term plan that is not based on exchanging time for money.
If you found this post useful, please share it in social media. Also please consider taking me up on my offer and join my 7-day online business course. Make the decision to work for yourself.
See you next time!

Thanks for your detailed post about Insight Global. I’ve seen the name when looking for job opportunities and wasn’t sure if they were legitimate, but you’ve put my mind at ease. I think it sounds like a good opportunity for people starting out. I’m curious about your course – will I have time to do it while still working a full time job?
Glad you found it useful John! It’s definitely a good option for getting some work experience when starting your career. The course is very straight forward, you will only need an hour or two per day so definitely something most people can find time for while working full time. I’ve actually built my whole online business while working full time so it’s all about prioritizing. But it’s important to know that you can do this with limited time, it just takes a bit more time and dedication than if you have the possibility to work full time on your online business. I know young guys who have gone all-in and quit their jobs and built a successful online business in 6 months.
Insight Global sounds like a good opportunity to make money while building a passive income. I’ve never heard of them but took a quick look at the website. Though I’ve never used staffing agencies. they seem like a solid, reliable company.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Kathy. Everything in my research suggests IG is a legit company that can help you find employment. That said, definitely check out my course if you want to create a more stable financial future for yourself!
Very informative article for those who are looking for employment. But I after reading this article I’m more interested in the 7 day course because you’re right, we do tend to trade our time in for money.
I no longer want to be just a number at my job. I want to creat a better opportunity for myself with supplemental income so I can eventually leave the traditional jobs behind. Working for myself is a no brained at this point. Thanks for the insight! You have opened my eyes to something better!!
Glad you liked it Sergio! You have made the right decision to start working for yourself. I’m glad that I could inspire you to make the decision. If you have any questions during the course (or after it) don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll be at your disposal anytime. Just reply to one of my emails. Good luck with your business!
Hi Jukka,
Thank you for your detailed review of Insight Global. I used a staffing agency many years ago to get a summer job. The company I worked at was considering hiring me on directly, but I went back to college instead.
I’ve applied with other staffing agencies since then, too, and none of those times resulted in me getting positions. I’ve had to go directly to companies to get hired.
Thanks for taking the time to comment James! My own experiences are actually very similar to you. I did a whole year of work through couple of agencies before college. Then during college a couple of shorter periods but suddenly I wasn’t getting any positions. And I don’t think it was anything I did because this was two different companies. It might have to do with the fact that they prefer inexperienced workers that aren’t too picky about working hours or their rights. Anyways, just like you, I found employment by directly contacting organizations-
Hi Jukkah
Thanks for your extensive review on Insight Global, and for providing so much information on staffing agency.
Your review will be very useful to those who are thinking of using IG, or who want to know more about staffing agencies.
Hearing that IG is a reputable staffing agency, will be very helpful to individuals who are looking for reviews on the company.
My first experience with a staffing agency was great. I was given a temporary assignment at a large company.
I am glad that the assignment was short termed, because it allowed to me apply for a position at the company, and I was there for eight years until I relocated.
Thanks again for your review.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Jackie! My experiences with staffing agencies are similar. They helped me find employment when I didn’t have real work experience or a degree. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using reputable staffing agencies but they do posses the risk of compromising down employee rights.
